Mr. James Capps died Sunday night at his home in this city after an illness lasting through the past year. About a year ago he had a stroke of paralysis from which he never recovered and since that time he had been in bad condition. Mr. Capps was fifty nine years old and widely known throughout the community. He was born in Upson county and all his life has lived in this part of the state. He was a member of New Hope Congregational Methodist church and had numerous friends throughout Pike and Upson counties. He had six children, four boys and two girls. The funeral occurred Tuesday morning at his home in this city and Rev. J.O. Grogan conducted the services. The people of the community extend sympathy to the bereaved loved ones.
