Huddleston, and was born near High Falls, in Monroe county, Ga., Nov. 30, 1864. Even before conversion she was an amiable and dutiful child, but early in her girlhood she professed religion and united with Providence C.M. church. Thence forward her life was full of the fragrances of Christly adornment. November 25, 1886, she was married to Mr. J.T. Cauthen, and from that time till her death, her home was at Milner. During her husband’s long illness, terminating in his death December 25th, 1893, she proved as true as wife ever did in patience vigilance and affectionate ministry. Sustained by grace devine as she buried him away, she turned with heroism to the duties of widowed motherhood. When Graham’s Chapel C.M. Church was organized at Milner in 1893, she was one of the charter members. During the years that followed, she was ever at her place when Providence permitted and whether present or absent, her Christ-like character and joyous Christian service revealed the depth of her experience and the beauty of her devotion. She was feeble for a long time and was confined to her bed about four months before her death. She was during those days of suffering one of the most joyous souls in the neighborhood, declaring that there was not a soul on earth she would exchange places with. Conscious till the very last, she testified on the very verge of the Unseen World that the Devine strength still sustained. July 27, 1904, she passed away and the next day the material part was deposited in the cemetery at Milner in the presence of many sorrow-stricken friends and relatives. She will be in everlasting remembrance. - Rolfe Hunt, Milner, Ga. (Transcribed 6/13/04 Lynn Cunningham) This file has been created by a form at http://www.poppet.org/gafiles/ File size: 2.4 Kb
