Rev. W. Carl Parker Dies Thursday A.M.
     The Rev. William Carl Parker, 77, of 424 Zebulon street, Barnesville, 
died early Thursday morning at his residence, after an extended illness.
     He was born in Conyers. Ga., and had lived in Lamar County for a number 
of years.
     Mr. Parker was a member of the Fredonia Congregational Church.  He was 
former pastor and pastor emeritus of the Fredonia Congregational Church.  He 
has pastored churches in Georgia for 50 years, including Center Congregational 
Church in Atlanta, Ga., Hampton County Line Congregational Church Williams 
Chapel, Waycross, Ga. and the Friendship Congregational church in Baxley, Ga.
     Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lilly Zelma Kiser Parker, Barnesville; 
three daughters, Mrs. James J. thomas, Forest Park, Ga., Mrs. R. L. Bennett, 
Jr., Atlanta, Ga., Mrs. J. D. Driggers, Jacksonville, Fla.; two sons, A. T. 
Parker, Albany, Ga., and L. S. Parker, Atlanta, Ga; four sisters, Mrs. Carlton 
Cason, Mrs. Hoyt Carson, Mrs. Outler Peele, all of Atlanta, Ga. and Mrs. Guy 
Chastain, Miami, Fla.; two brothers, P. L. Parker, Flagler Beach, Fla. and J. 
E. Parker, Atlanta, Ga.; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
     Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock form the 
Fredonia Congregational Church.  The Rev. Kermit Harris officiated.  Burial 
was in the church cemetery.
     The body was carried to the church one hour prior to the service to lie 
in state.
     Hubbard Funeral Home of Barnesville, Ga. wa sin charge of arrangements.
