FLORENCE A. PROCTOR On Tuesday evening, June 29, 1948, the soul of Mrs. Florence Moore Proctor was called to her eternal home, a building of God an [sic] house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. She joined the Methodist Church when she was 12 years old. She loved the Bible, she read it daily. She was left a widow at the age of 30 years with six children to rear by herself with the Lord. There were four boys and two girls. W. R. Proctor, the oldest one was 13 years old; Sallie, 10 years, Callie, 8, Anderson, 6, Herschel was four. Homer was but 18 months old. She managed some way to make a living and reared them up in Sunday School and in church. She was a member of Hopewell Methodist Church and the Woman's Society of Christian Service. No person was more faithful in church attendance than she. It was an inspiration to her pastors to see her always present at church. Few people live to the ripe old age of 84 years as did Mrs. Proctor, with such dignity and poise. She was much aware of her world. She maintained an interest not only in her church, but also in her community and in her host of friends. She was possessed of a marvelous zest for living. We shall remember her as a God-fearing and God-seeking woman, who loved both God and her fellowmen. She had great courage which was tempered with kindness, patience and a fine sense of humor. Though our hearts are lonely and yearn for her presence, we find peace and solace in the confident knowledge that she was a child of God, and we know that our Lord has prepared a mansion for his won in the Kingdom of Eternity. Mrs. J. H. Lee, Daughter. Additional Comments: She died in Baldwin Co., GA.
