J. Sappington, 83, were held this morning at Prospect Methodist church in Lamar county, with the pastor, the Rev. W. A. Pilgrim, and the Rev. W. Carl Parker, pastor of the Fredonia Congregational church, officiating. Mrs. Sappington died at her home in Redbone Saturday after an illness of several years. Her husband died only a few weeks ago. A native of Butts county, Mrs. Sappington came to this section at the time of her marriage 52 years ago. She was a member of the Methodist church, and was prominent in affairs in the Redbone community. She was before her marriage Miss Ada Peurifoy. Survivors include daughters, Miss FloRene and Miss Lucy Sappington; sons, Colbert, of Redbone, and Peurifoy, of Orlando, Fla.; a sister, Miss Alice Peurifoy, of Daytona Beach, Fla, and five brothers, Colbert Peurifoy, of Griffin; C. A. Peurifoy, Bradenton, Fla; E. A. and R. G. Peurifoy, of Worthen, Texas, and Paul Peurifoy, of Daytona Beach, Fla.
