Slade Dies in Griffin Mrs. B. Slade, wife of one of Griffin's best known business men and one the most beloved women in this section, died at her home in Griffin shortly after midnight Friday. She had been in failing health for several years. She was formerly Miss Emily Clyde Hunt, the daughter of the late John and Emily Bussey Hunt, and a member of one of the most prominent families in middle Georgia. She is survived by her husband, four daughters, Mrs. John H. DePew, of New York city; Mrs. Richard Drake, Jr., Miss Evelyn Slade and Mrs. Marion Slade; four sons Burton, Ira, John and Joe Slade, all of Griffin; two sisters, Mrs. George Ridgeway and Mrs. Dede Cannafax, of Barnesville, and four brothers, J.W. Hunt, of Griffin; T.J. Hunt, of Milner; John T. Hunt, of Douglas, and Ben Hunt of San Antonio. Additional Comments: Daughter of Dr. John P. Hunt and Emily Loveda Kitchens Bussey Hunt. Wife of Burton Slade, they were married 19 Dec 1895 in Pike County. She was born 6 May 1861 and died 9 Feb 1928.
