O. Revels, Jr., officiating. Burial was in Ramah Church Cemetery. Mr. Smith died at the residence after a long illness. He was a retired farmer and custodian of the Lamar courhouse [sic] where he served a long number of years prior to his illness. He was a native of Monroe County, and a member of Ramah Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Nellie Kah Smith, Barnesville; five daughters, Mrs. R. W. Ingram, Cordele; Mrs. Alton Chell, Phoenix, Ariz.; Mrs. B. G. Sexton, Indianapolis, Ind.; Mrs. E. D. Driskell, Yatesville; and Mrs. George Tharp, Barnesville; three sons, J. C. Smith and D. C. Smith, Barnesville; and W. D. Smith, Jacksonville, Fla.; a brother, Gray Smith, Barnesville; 31 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. Hubbard Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
