Waggoner, has crossed over the river and is in the beyond. He died at his home in Monroe county near Barnesville Saturday morning April 29th in his 76th year and was buried at Fredonia church Sunday afternoon. I have known Mr. Waggoner for many years, before the war, during the war, and since the war. I knew him during the war as a valiant soldier, who did his whole duty. He was wounded several times and carried the scars to his grave. He was my friend, so were I his. Our dealings since the war were thousands upon thousands of dollars, all of which were settled satisfactory. He was an honorable and law abiding man, and could not tolerate treachery or hypocrisy. He was always plain and candid in everything he said or done. Peace to his ashes. In condolence and sympathy for the bereaved ones, I subscribe myself, a friend. - J.W.
