Tuesday evening at the residence of Dr. T. B. Hollis, the bride's uncle and guardian, Miss Nelle Gray was united in marriage to Mr. Robert Holmes. The marriage was a surprise to the many friends of the young people. The ceremony was performed by Rev. E. K. Aiken of this city. Both bride and groom are residents of Barnesville. The bride is the daughter of the late Dr. S. H. Gray who resided in Barnesville at the time of his death, though for many years he was a citizen of this county. Miss Gray is a beautiful young lady and highly accomplished. She is exceedingly popular. The groom is cashier of the Barnesville Savings Bank and is a young man with a promising future. The young people came to this city by private conveyance Tuesday evening, returning to Barnesville immediately after the performance of the ceremony. We congratulate both bride and groom and wish them a happily wedded life. Additional Comments: Nellie Gray m. Robert Holmes on 18 July 1899 in Monroe Co., GA.
