The ceremony was performed by Rev. B. H. Trammell before an altar of ferns banked with smilax entwined with pink flowers. The bride's attendants were her sister, Miss Elcy Means, as maid of honor and Miss Florence Bankston as bride's maid. Mr. William Everett Bankston, brother of the bride groom, acted as best man, and Mr. Robert Berner Means as groomsman. Just before the ceremony Mrs. H. E. Armstrong sang "Because," with Mrs. Arthur Owen as accompanist. The bridal party entered the room to the strains of Mendelssohn's wedding march. Miss Bankston entered with Mr. Means, followed by the groom and his best man, who was met at the altar by the bride attended by her sister. The bride wore a going away suit of dark blue and carried a bouquet of bride's roses showered with lilies of the valley. The bride's attendants wore nile green dresses and white picture hats and carried bouquets of white carnations. The occasion was witnessed by a host of friends. Numerous handsome gifts were received. Mr. and Mrs. Bankston left immediately on a tour to points of interest in the south and east, and on their return they will be at home to their friends. Additional Comments: Jewell was the daughter of John Thomas Means and Annie America (Thurmond) Means of Barnesville.
