 Iris "Mama Dub" Brogdon, 82, of Lakeland died February 13, 2008 at her 
residence after a lengthy illness.
 She was born in Berrien County on November 5, 1925 to the late Bennie and 
Estelle Gurganious Sirmans. She was a homemaker and assisted her husband in 
their farming operation. She later worked at the Coastal Plain EOA Nutrition 
Center in Lanier County for many years. She is preceded in death by her 
husband, W.R. "Dub" Brogdon; and infant daughter, sister, Agnes Stone; two 
brothers, I.B. Sirmans and Isaac Sirmans.
 Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Hilda Jean Norman of 
Jacksonville, FL, Kitty and Red Plair, Linda Gayle and Richard Rowe all of 
Lakeland; son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Jean Brogdon of Lakeland; brothers, 
Bennie L. Sirmans of Callahan, FL and Leon Sirmans of Lakeland; sisters, Mary 
Lou Gaskins of Jacksonville, FL and Maggie Lee Roe of Cumming; seven 
grandchildren, Teena Michelle and Rodney Walker, John F. and LaShel Norman, 
III, Jennifer Norman, Amanda Gayle Rowe, Laura Ann and Michael Heard, Lynn and 
Joel Bolling, Hope Rowe; five great grandchildren, Mallory Walker, Alexis 
Lucas, Kimberlynne Iris Norman, Jayce Heard, Christopher Bethea, several nieces 
and nephews.
 Funeral services were held February 16 at 3 p.m. in the Lakeland Chapel of 
Music Funeral Services with burial following in Greenlawn Cemetery.
 Music Funeral Services was in charge of arrangements.
