 Marvin W. Connell, 85, of Lakeland died July 5, 2013 at South Georgia Medical 
Center in Valdosta after a lengthy illness.
 He was born September 23, 1927 in Burlington, WV to the late John Preston and 
Eleanor Connell. He served his country in the United States Air Force for 20 
years before his retirement. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in 
death by a son, Marvin Connell, Jr., sister, Laura Manning, and brother, John 
Connell. He was an avid fisherman, loved the outdoors and water. He was Baptist 
by faith.
 Survivors include his wife, Angela R. Connell of Lakeland; grandsons, Shane 
Connell of Nashville and Jason Connell of Seattle, WA; granddaughter, Rachel 
Connell of Panama City, FL; brother and sister-in-law, Harry and Nova Connell 
of Romney, WV; sister, Burt Hartman of VA, daughter-in-law, Barbara Sumner of 
Nashville.
 Funeral services were July 8 at 2 p.m. in the Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral 
Services with burial in New Ramah Cemetery in Ray City with full military 
honors.
 Music Funeral Services of Lakeland was in charge of arrangements.
