Born in Berrien County, he was a veteran of WWII and was retired after 30 years from the Soil Conservation in Tennessee. After moving to Lanier County, he was a district supervisor for Lanier County with the Alapaha Soil and Water Conservation, a member of 7 Rivers RC&D Counsel, Lakeland/Lanier County Chamber of Commerce, the Lanier County Historical Society and served on the Board of The Lanier County Farm Bureau. He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church in Lakeland and the Jim Threatte Sunday School class. Survivors include his wife, Wyleen Jolley Corbett of Lakeland; daughter, Cynthia Beacham of Spartanburg, SC; two sons, Warren P. Corbett, Jr. of Bethesda, MD and James Corbett of Lakeland; two granddaughters. Funeral services were held June 15 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Lakeland. Debra Boyd sang "How Great Thou Art," Carolyn Berryhill played the organ, and Nell Roquemore played the violin. The congregation sang "Amazing Grace." A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Tifton. Pallbearers were Blaine Murray, Brian Griner, Richard Corbett, Jerry Smith, Bob Watson, Tom J. Craft, Billy E'Dalgo, Jim Shirley. Music Funeral Services of Lakeland was in charge of arrangements.
