 Betty Marie Dampier, 77, of Nashville died March 13, 2014, in South Georgia 
Medical Center in Valdosta after a lengthy illness.
 Born February 22, 1937, in Lakeland to the late Jesse Lee and Beulah Effie 
Crews Courson, she was a homemaker and Baptist by faith. She is preceded in 
death by her parents; spouse, James Ashley Dampier; son, William Royals; 
brother, Irie Courson; two sisters, Lillie Mae Bennett and Ethel Lightsey.
 Survivors include one son, Jackie Royals of Nashville.
 A graveside service was held March 15 at 2 p.m. at  Mud Creek Cemetery in 
Lanier County.
 Music Funeral Services of Lakeland was in charge of arrangements.
