She was born July 31, 1932, in Lakeland to the late John W. and Irene Guthrie Weaver. She was a member of the Salem Primitive Baptist Church in Adel. At the age of 18, she trusted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savor. She was a wife, mother, and homemaker to her family, a true Proverbs 31 woman. She was a 1949 graduate of Lanier County High School. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond L. Griner, a sister, Mary Parker, and a brother John W. Weaver, Jr. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Bonnie Griner of Pace, FL; daughters, Lareta Griner and Lynn G. Taylor, both of Valdosta; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Gloria Weaver of Tallahassee, FL; sisters, Janice Devane of Valdosta and Marilyn King of Enigma. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on November 19 at Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial to follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens, Valdosta.
