She was born February 15, 1956, in Lanier County to Ivory and Queen Ester Warren and lived in Ray City. In her early years, In her early year she attended Nashville High and Elementary and graduated from Berrien High School in 1974. She attended Valdosta State College where she received her Bachelor of Science and Master’s Degree and Educational Specialist Degree from Nova Southeastern University. On May 23, 1976, Ivy was initiated into Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated as a chapter member of the Kappa Upsilon Chapter at Valdosta State University. She was a well loved educator, having taught History and English at Lanier County Middle School from 1993 until her retirement in 2009. Ivy was saved under the leadership of Missionary Queen E. Polite. During her husband’s deployment, she was a member of the Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Superintendent Julius A. Ford in Santa Moria, CA and in Frankfurt, Germany. After she returned home, Ivy reconnected with The First Born Church of the Living God, Inc. After that, she became a member of The New Covenant First Born Ministry under the leadership of Bishop Jerry Gordon and Bishop Queen E. Polite. She preached her trial sermon at Graham’s Temple on June 18, 1006. She was the youth First Born Ministries, National Headquarters in Pensacola, FL. Elder Harbert was a faithful servant until the lord called her home. She was married to master Sergeant Robert Harbert, whom she married in 1977. She is the mother of two daughters, Robin Herbert Moore (Reshean) and Shayla Harbert, and has five grandchildren, Darien Harbert, Tyla Wright, Vinson Winston, Jr., Layla Moore, and Kyle Freeman, and one devoted special child, “Jazz” Harbert.” She has five sisters, Erma Boone, Cassundra Graham, Shirley Scott, Servella Edwards and Malinda Shinard; three brothers, Kenneth Warren, Sr, Sr., Lewis Orr, Jr., and Apostle Calvin Meadows; brother-in-law, Alphonso Boone, Sr.; sister-in- law Cynthia Warren; and in-laws, Latrelle and Michael DuBois Ivy also leaves to cherish her aunts, Nadine, Estella, Eula, Martha, Maggie, and Gloria; uncles, Charles Wright, Gerald, Charles Warren Francis, Jay, Horace, and Lewis. She also has several nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father, Ivory Warren; maternal grandmother, Estella James; paternal grandmother, Maggie Young; maternal grandfather, Mose Wrigh; and paternal grandfather, George Warren; and a host of aunts, uncles, and other relatives. Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 15 at 11 a.m. at Southside Baptist Church, in Lakeland with Bishop Jerry Gordon. Interment was in Charles Knight Cemetery in Lakeland. Active pallbearers were Answar Warren, Kenneth Warren, Jr., Aja Graham, Mose Solomon, DeShun Boone, Alphonso Boone, Jr., Reginald Wright, and Anthony Morrell. Honorary pallbearers were Ministers of the Gospel. Attendants were classmates of the Classmates of 1974. A repast was held at the Senior Citizens Center of Ray City. Black & Son Funeral Home of Nashville was in charge of arrangements.
