 Betty Jane Herndon, 76, of Lakeland died December 31, 2004 at South Georgia 
Medical Center in Valdosta, GA.

 Born January 22, 1928 in Lowndes County to the late Eddie Ottis and Lessie Lee 
Robinson Moore, She was a homemaker and beautician. She was a member of 
Lakeland United Methodist Church, serving as a member of the choir and worked 
for many years in the church nursery. She was married to the late James Herndon.

 Survivors include one son, Phil Herndon of Hahira; one sister, Becky Moore of 
Nashville; two grandsons.

 Funeral services were held January 3 at 11 a.m. at Lakeland United Methodist 
Church with Rev. Ron Smith officiating. Courtney Griner served as soloist, 
accompanied by Richy Richardson. Margaret Ann Shaw provided processional and 
recessional music.

 Interment was in Lakeland City Cemetery.

 Pallbearers were Mitchell Moore, Fred Moore, Larry Moore, Franklin Patten, 
Wink Strickland, James Lee Herndon.

 Lovein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
