  Dorothy "Dot" Guthrie Mims, 76, of Lakeland died January 7, 2008 at her 
residence following a brief illness.
  She was born September 8, 1931 in Berrien County to the late Flora Lindsey 
and Abner James Guthrie. She retired from Amoco Fabrics in Nashville. Upon 
moving to Nahunta, she worked and retired from Brantley Enterprise in sales. 
She was a member of Lakeland United Methodist Church. She  is preceded in death 
by her husband, Harvey Mims; a son, David Darsey; three sisters Evelyn Dorsey, 
Nita Paulk and Grace Powell.
  Survivors include one son and daughter in law, Don and Anita Darsey of 
Nashville, TN; two daughters and sons in law, Adrian and John Lewis of 
Lakeland, Jan and Terry Permenter of Cordele; brother, A.J. Guthrie of Atkinson 
Co., 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews.
  Funeral services were held January 10 at 2 p.m. at Lakeland United Methodist 
Church with burial following in Guthrie Cemetery in Berrien County.
  Music Funeral Services in Lakeland was in charge of arrangements.
