He was born June 6, 1921, to the late Willie Letha and Edna Mae Hughes Royals in Nashville, Berrien County. He was a finish carpenter at Moody Air Force Base, working with civil service. He served our country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was Baptist by faith. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Helen G. Royals; brothers, Murel Royals, Winston Royals, Wyman Royals, and Wonnie Royals. Survivors include his sister, Lucile R. Gaskins of Lakeland; brother, James D. Royals of Nashville; sisters-in-law, Lavann Gaskins and Eloise Gaskins, both of Lakeland, GA, Betty Jo Royals and Joyce Royals, both of Nashville, Peggy Royals of Lakeland, FL; a number of cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on March 1 at the Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral Services. Interment followed in Burnt Church Cemetery in Lakeland, GA. Music Funeral Services of Lakeland was in charge of arrangements.
