    Ruth Vaughn, 72, passed away Saturday night, Sept. 27, 2008, at Tift 
Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
    She was born Feb. 18, 1936, to the late J.D. and Annie Jones in Berrien 
County, Ga., and had lived in Lakeland for most of her life. She was a member 
of the New River Holiness Church. Her great-grandson, Levin Pafford, preceded 
her in death. 
    Survivors include husband John A. Vaughn of Lakeland; two daughters, 
Barbara May of Nashville and Brenda Pafford and David Miley of Tifton; five 
grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Irene Rutherford of 
Nashville; and a number of nieces and nephews. 
    Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008, in the 
Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial following in the New 
River Cemetery in Berrien County. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. 
today at the funeral home. - Music Funeral Services of Lakeland was in charge 
of arrangements.
