She was also known to many as “Buck” and “Ann.” Born August 13, 1922, in Lanier County to the late George W. and Nancy Boyd Moore, she was a homemaker and mother to many children brought into her life. She owned and operated Ann’s Restaurant and did most of the cooking. She loved to to put up her own fruits and vegetables and taught others how to do so. She was al also very active as room mother in the school with her children. She sewed for he her family, cut hair, worked in the business, and helped remodel the home. She was active in the Church of the Nazarene for over 50 years and was t treasurer for many of those years. She was amazing as a builder, mechanic, and h heavy equipment operator, as well as being a wife, mother, and housekeeper. She s studied nursing and could be depended on for most injuries, and even the family d doctor put her to work when she was there with family members. She was an o outstanding example to all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Watson; oldest son, Vinson Carrol Watson; sisters, Elizabeth, at age 5, Muriel Burkhalter, Mildred Murphy, Ludelle Mills; brother, George Edward Moore; great grandmother, Jessica Miller, and great-grandson, Dustin Musser. She is survived by her children, Jean Tanner, Calvin (Susan) Watson, Glenda Drummond, Kenneth (Darlene) Watson, William (Sonja) Watson; daughter-in-law, Mabel Watson; sisters-in-law, Betty Moore, Nell (Mrs. Futch) Yarbrough; brother-in in-law, Marcus Eugene (Juanita) Watson; two beloved nieces, Margie Oieberman and Barbara Franklin; other parents of grandchildren, Glenna Mullen, Sallie Watson, Jan Manning, Melanie Fengler and Carrie Clark; 10 grandchildren, Kenneth (Spivey) and Bill (Tanner) Watson, Stephen Tanner, Timothy Carrol Watson, Cheryl Miller, Donna Haynes, John David Watson, Sarah Watson, Vicki Hernandez, James Drummond; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. The family has honored her request for cremation. A memorial service will be held Sunday, February 26 at 1 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
