Arthur F. Spivey (parents Hardy Smith Spivey and M. Elizabeth Smith) was born 
September 1890 in Laurens County, GA. He died September 12, 1953 in Laurens 
County, GA.  
  
The 1910 Federal Census shows Arthur Spivey (age 20)living next door to his 
father's farm and his Uncle John J. Spivey's farm, newly married to Francis 
(age 24).  He was a farmer on a general farm that he rented.

The 1920 Census shows Arthur Spivey (age 30)living on a farm that he owned (not 
the one located next to his father shown in the 1910 Census).  In the same 
household were: his wife Frances (age 35), and three children: Foy E. (age 9), 
Walther L. (age 7), and Ralph (age 3).   

The 1930 Federal Census shows Arthur Spivey (age 40) living in Laurens County, 
GA with his wife, Frances (age 44), and two sons, Walter (age 15) and Ralph 
(age 12).  Arthur was 20 years old when he married Frances who was 24 years 
old.  Arthur was renting his home for $2.00 per month.  He was a wood cutter; 
and he was not a veteran.  Both he and his wife were born in Georgia and so 
were their parents.  Arthur and Frances could read and write.

Arthur rounded up rattlesnakes that he killed and skinned to sale.  He was 
bitten and it caused him to have seizures.  

Arthur F. married Frances Stewart.  
  
Arthur F. Spivey and Frances Stewart had the following children:
 
  1. Foy Spivey was born November 10, 1910 in GA. He died February 1987 in GA.  
Was a pastor at the Snow Hill Baptist Church in Laurens County, GA.  Lost leg 
from a blood clot.

  2. Ralph Spivey. Lost a leg in WWII at Bastilone, Italy.   

  3. Walter Spivey.
