The 1870 Federal Census shows : (Note: the census taker spelled Spivey as Spivy)
Daniel Spivey living in Laurens County, GA (age 42) a farmer, born in Georgia, 
real estate valued at $600, and personal property valued at $300.  The census 
shows that Daniel could not write.
Alez Spivey (age 43) keeping house, born in Georgia, could not read or write.
Augustus (age 15) farm laborer, born in Georgia, could not read or write.
Hardy S. Spivey (age 14) farm laborer, could not read or write
John J. (age 11) farm laborer, born in Georgia, could not read or write.
Margaret (age 8) born in Georgia.
Daniel (age 6) born in Georgia.
Alez N. (age 1) born in Georgia.

The 1880 Federal Census for Laurens County Georgia shows:
Living next door to his father, Daniel Spivey:
Augustus Spivey (age 25), married, a farmer, born in Georgia, could read and 
write.  His wife, Elvier (age 19), keeping house, born in Georgia, could not 
write.  Both of Elvier's parents were born in Georgia.

On the 1900 and 1910 Census, Augustus is still living in Laurens County Georgia.

The 1910 Laurens County Georgia Census shows A. K. Spivey (age 55); Ella L. 
(age 49); Annie Belle (age 16); Hilton (age 7); and Alsie (age 82, had 9 
children with all 9 children still living).) mother to Augustus K. Spivey. 

Augustus is buried at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery in Laurens County 
Georgia.   
  
Augustus K. married Elvira (Ella) Lenora Stevens on September 13, 1877 in 
Laurens County, GA.  
  
Augustus K. Spivey and Elvira (Ella) Lenora Stevens had the following children:

   1. Olin Spivey was born October 1883 in Georgia.    

   2. Lavada Spivey was born August 1886 in Georgia. Lavada Spivey married 
Frank Bush on October 1907 in Laurens County Georgia.   

  3. Bonnie Bell Spivey was born May 19, 1893 in Laurens County, Georgia.    

  4. Hilton Spivey was born 1903 in Laurens County Georgia.    

  5. Louna Bell Spivey was born 1894 in Georgia.
