Alice M. Sarchett was born January 4, 1871 in Georgia. She died November 18, 
1919 in Laurens County, GA. 
 
The 1900 Laurens County Census shows John Spivey (age 41) married for 11 years; 
Alice (age 29) married for 11 years, had 5 children and all 5 children were 
living; Tom (age 10); Maggie (age 8); Oliver (age 6); Lelan (age 4); and Wesley 
(age 2).

The 1910 Federal Census shows John J. Spivey (age 50) living in Laurens County 
Georgia, Oconee District on a farm that he owned.  He had been married for 22 
years.  Living in the same household were:  His wife, Allie (age 39), married 
to John for 22 years, she had nine children, of which, 8 children were still 
living.  His children: Maggie (age 18) single, Oliver (age 15) single, Leland 
(age 14) single, Madey (age 12), Oscar (age 10), Amos (age 5), Joseph and Joel 
(age 3). (Note: Tom from the 1900 Census had died.)

The 1920 Census shows John J. (age 60), widowed, owns farm that is mortgaged, a 
farmer on a general farm.  In the same household were:
His son, Leland (age 23) single, farm laborer, can read and write.
His son, Maley G. (age 21) single, farm laborer, can read and write.
His son, Oscar O. (age 19) single.
His son, Amos L. (age 14).
His sons, Joseph & Joel (age 12).

Alice is buried at Blue Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Laurens County, GA.

Alice M. married John J. Spivey on October 7, 1888 in Laurens County, GA. John 
J. (parents Daniel Spivey and Alsie Bush) was born 1859 in Laurens County, GA. 
 
Alice M. Sarchett and John J. Spivey had the following children:
  
 1. Maggie Spivey was born January 1892 in Georgia.  Maggie married J. E. 
Johnson on December 25, 1912 in Laurens County Georgia.
   
 2. Oliver Spivey was born July 18, 1894 in Georgia. He died November 1, 1919 
in Georgia. Oliver is buried at Blue Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Laurens 
County Georgia.
  
 3. Leland Spivey was born ABT. 1896 in Georgia. 
  
 4. Madey Spivey was born ABT. 1898 in Georgia. 
   
 5. Oscar O. Spivey was born October 18, 1900 in Georgia. He died January 19, 
1991 in Houston County, GA.  Known to family as Double O Spivey.  Was living in 
Bibb County Georgia when he died.

 6. Amos Spivey was born ABT. 1905 in Georgia. 
   
 7. Joseph Spivey was born 1907 in Georgia. He had a twin brother, Joel.
   
 8. Joel Spivey was born ABT. 1907 in Georgia.  Twin brother to Joseph. 
 
 9. Tom Spivey was born July 23, 1889 in Georgia. He died July 22, 1909 in 
Georgia.  Tom is buried at Blue Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Laurens 
County Georgia.
