Watson. It is charged that Sam stole a cow from Mr.B.F.Edwards, who lives near the old corbett place, this county. Mr.Edwards made diligent search for the cow and the thief, and his investigations began to lead him toward Sam. Now Sam had already sold the cow to a man living some distance off, and when suspicions began leading toward him, he went one night and stole the cow from the man to whom he had sold it. Then he carried the cow back and put it in the pasture belonging to Mr.Edwards, from who he had originally stole it. The next morning Mr.Edwards found his cow safe and sound in the lot.Sam, of course denies knowing anything about it.
