Edgar Hardy Hanson Jr., 29, of 2876 Sun Valley Drive, Macon, was killed. Shirley Hanson, 27, suffered a possible fractured skull and broken pelvis; Joey Hanson, 3, fractured collar bone and lacerations; and Steve Hanson 7, had a fractured skull and fractured left leg. They are at the Macon Hospital and Mrs. Hanson and the 7 year old boy are said to be in serious condition. According to the report, Mr. Hanson apparently lost control of his car, ran off the road, and into a store 1.3 miles east of Jeffersonville on US 80. Corporal P. M. Walker and Trooper J. C. Noles, who investigated, said damages to the car and the store are $3000. Among the first to reach the scene were four Dublinities, Mr. and Mrs. John Bargeron and Mr. and Mrs. Charles G. Lambeck, and they assisted in removing two of the injured from the wreckage. Mr. Lamback (sic) inserted a tube in the nose of the 7 year old boy, which it was said, greatly helped the little boy. Mrs. Earl Hamrick, of Jeffersonville, were also at the scene giving aid. The Dublinities said it required the service of two wreckers to remove the vehicle from the store and some two hours to extricate the dead man and more severly injured boy. The tragedy occurred about 7pm yesterday. .............. Additional Comments: Only the part of the article involving Edgar Hardy Hanson Jr. is transcribed.
