                            Mrs. Herman H. Ballard
 Mrs. Herman H. Ballard, 71, 713 N. Church St. Dublin, died last night in a 
local hospital after being in declining health for several years. Funeral 
services will be held at 3pm Sunday at the Bethlehem Baptist Church with Rev. 
Ervin Flanders, Rev. James O. Gay and Rev. William F. Matthews officiating. 
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
 Born and reared in Laurens County, Mrs. Ballard was the daughter of the late 
Harris and Molly Adkins Stewart, the former Miss Inez Stewart. She was a 
member of the Christian Church and was married to the late Herman H. Ballard.
 Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Margaret Kelly of East Dublin; two sons, 
James W. Holmes of Metter and Robert L. Holmes of Lyons; eight grandchildren; 
five great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Avis S. Spivey, Dublin; four 
brothers, Elton Stewart of Columbus, Luther Stewart of Macon, and Ed Stewart 
and Gilson Stewart, both of Dublin; and several nieces, nephews, and other 
relatives. 
 Pallbearers will be Sam Spivey, Ray Spivey, Don Spivey, Harold Spivey, Robert 
Drew, and Rudy Crafton. The family will be at the home of Mrs. Ballard's 
sister, Mrs. Avis S. Spivey at 713 N. Church St. They will receive friends at 
the funeral home tonight from 7:30 to 9pm.
 Adams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Additional Comments:
Inez was born 14 Aug 1906. Her first husband was Unknown Holmes and her second 
husband was Jack D. Smith. Georgia death certificate #018481.
