Her husband, Willie Lee Barbee, is also buried there. From The Dublin Courier Herald 5-29-1989 Page 2A Sara K. Barbee Graveside services for Mrs. W. L. Barbee, 68, of 1523 Rice Avenue, will be held at 3PM today at Northview Cemetery. The Rev. James R. Sampley will officiate. A native of Montgomery County, Mrs. Barbee made Dublin her home for many years. She was the daughter of James Allen and Nellie McLeod Kitchens and a retired J. C. Penny Co. employee. Mrs. Barbee died Sunday in a local hospital after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Barbee attended Brewton Parker High School and Braswell Institute. She was a member of Jefferson Street Baptist Church where she worked in the church nursery for many years. Survivors incluide her husband Willie Lee Barbee; three sisters, Louise K. Farrell and Elizabeth K. Simms, both of Dublin and Tommie K. Tarver of Norkfolk, Va.; and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Theron Thomas, Kenneth Thomas, Charles Lane, Gene Odom, Harbutt Fountain and Clyde Poole. The family will receive friends at the family residence. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Mrs. Barbee. Adams Funeral home has charge of arrangements.
