Brantley, 65, of Rt. 7 Dublin, will be held at 2:30PM Thursday at Union Baptist Church. The Rev. James Frost, the Rev. Earl Warnock, and the Rev. W. E. Flanders will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Brantley died Tuesday in a Dublin hospital. A lifelong resident of Laurens County, he was the son of the late John and Maggie Padgett Brantley. He was a retired farmer and a member of Graham Memorial Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include his wife, Irene Brantley of Dublin; four daughters, Emma Cauley of Mount Vernon, Johnnie Mae Orth of Bradenton, Fla., Oloise Hester and Audrey Townsend, both of Dublin; a son, James M. Brantley of Dublin; four step- daughters, Fannie Mae Youmans of Soperton, Addie Maudgosutch of Augusta, Annie Lee Brown of Vidalia, and Eula Mae Mullis of Eatonton; 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and 14 step-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Lewis Foskey, Buddy Hester, Pat Clements, Milton Minter, Winfred Thomas, and David Graham. The body will lie in state at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home until 1:30PM Thursday when it will be placed in the church to remain until the funeral hour. The family will receive friends from 7-9 tonight at the funeral home. Additional Comments: John W. was born 8-6-1898. he was also married to Gertrude Foskey Brantley.
