(Jim) Carroll williamcarrollj@bellsouth.net October 7, 2009, 7:15 am The Dublin Courier Herald 8-26-1943 Page 6 Rites Held For Laurens County Man Freeman Charles Brantley, 72, well known Laurens farmer of Dublin Route 6, died at his home at 5:30 Wednesday afternoon following an illness of four days. Mr. Brantley was a native of Laurens County and was married to Miss Margaret Foskey, who died in 1934. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Lewis Maddox Sr. of Dublin Rt. 6; three grandchildren, Dorothy, Mary, and Lewis Maddox Jr.; five brothers, J. C. Brantley of Glenwood Rt. 2, John Brantley of Adrian Rt. 2, L. M. Brantley of Dublin Rt. 6, Sessom Brantley of Macon, and Blanton Brantley of the Navy; and four sisters, Mrs. Jane Hoover of Macon, Mrs. Dewey Lynn of Macon, Mrs. Lecy Turner of Jacksonville, Fla., and Mrs. Fed Holton of Adrian Rt. 2. Funeral services were held at 4 o'clock this afternoon (Thursday) at Smith Chapel, Rev. Edward Carruth of Brewton officiating. Burial was in Foskey Cemetery. Adams Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Ollie Hart, Dennis Hart, Thomas Hart, C. H. Rowland, Olee Sutton, Felton Clemons, Willie Kight, Herbert Shepard, Dr. C. G. Moye, I.
