(Jim) Carroll williamcarrollj@bellsouth.net August 22, 2011, 7:00 pm The Dublin Courier Herald Dec 1976 Carl Morgan Carter Sr. Mr. Carl Morgan Carter Sr., 64, 1203 West Moore St., Dublin, died Saturday afternoon in a local hospital after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM Monday in the chapel of Townsend Funeral home with Rev. Jimmy R. Smith and Elder Gerald Proctor officiating. Burial will be in Northview Cemetery. A life-long resident of Laurens County, Mr. Carter was the son of the late Charlie M. Carter and the late Sendie Love Carter. He was a member of the Orianna Baptist Church, Laurens Lodge No. 75 F&AM, and he had been supervisor of the Maintenance Department of J. P. Stevens for the past 29 years. Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Amanda Riner Carter, Dublin; two sons, Carl M. Carter Jr., Olltewah, Tenn. and Don (Buzzy) Carter, Dublin; two daughters, Mrs. Sylvia C. Burch, Augusta and Mrs. Delores C. Cheney, Hinesville; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Reed Willis and Mrs. Mildred McCarter, both of Macon; and six grandchildren. Members of the Maintenance Department of J. P. Stevens will serve as active and honorary pallbearers. Laurens Lodge No. 75 F&AM will furnish Masonic rites at the graveside. Townsend Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
