Currie, 87, died Tuesday, March 31, 1998. She held a bachelor's degree from Georgia Teachers College, a master's degree from Mercer University and a six year specialist degree in education from the University of Georgia. She taught in Laurens County and was the former principal of Lowery School for several years. She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School director, training union director, treasurer, clerk and choir and music director. Survivors include her sisters and brother, Myrtle C. Avery of Glenwood, Williamette C. Burgess of Macon and J.C. Currie of Dublin. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight in Adams Funeral Home, Dublin, and may be contacted at the residence.
