(Jim) Carroll williamcarrollj@bellsouth.net February 8, 2012, 2:48 pm The Dublin Courier 1-29-1979 Tuesday Services Are Set For Mr. Daniell Funeral services for Dwight Daniell Sr., 71, of 212 Brookwood Drive, Dublin, will be held at 2pm Tuesday at Jefferson Street Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy R. Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Dublin Memorial Gardens. Mr. Daniell, a lifelong resident of Laurens County, died Sunday night unexpectedly in a local hospital. He was the son of the late Otto Daniell and the late Fannie Wyatt Daniell, pioneer citizens of the Marie community in Laurens County. A retired cotton ginner, Mr. Daniell was a member of the Jefferson Street Baptist Church and the Welcome Sunday School Class. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Shelly Pearl Keene Daniell of Dublin; two sons, Dwight Daniell Jr. of Huntsville, Ala. and the Rev. Alfred Daniell of Franklinton, La.; two daughters, Mrs. Pard Ward of Atlanta and Mrs. Tony Neal of Augusta; one brother, David Daniell of Dublin; seven grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Ted Mercer, Dessie Page, Enman J. Sheppard, Pap Silas, Earl Hodges, and Ed Fountain. Members of the Welcome Sunday School Class will serve as the honorary escort. The body will be placed in state at Townsend Funeral Home until 1pm Tuesday, when it will be placed in the church until the funeral. Townsend Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
