John B. Studstill officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Townsend Funeral Home of Dublin in charge. The body will lie in state at the church from 2 to 3pm. Mr. Davis was pronounced dead on arrival at Macon Hospital after he suffered a heart attack in Macon City Auditorium while watching a basketball game between Dexter and Bogart. Survivors include his wife: five sons, Marshall J. Davis of Macon, P. Alton Davis and Warren Ray Davis of Dexter, Melvin F. Davis of Macon, and Clayton Davis of Jacksonville, Fla.; four daughters, Mrs. Odus DeFore of Macon, Mrs. Joe Wise of Long Island, NY, Mrs. Hal Davis of Albemarle, NC, and Mrs. Ray Waites of Dexter; one brother, Curtis Davis of Dexter; three sisters, Mrs. Donnie Horne, Mrs. Oliver Phillips, and Mrs. Emmie NeSmith, all of Dexter; 11 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Additional Comments: Thomas was born 27 Feb 1884 to Elbert L. Davis and Sarah Drucilla Darsey Davis. His father is buried in Buckhorn as well. His wife was Emma Lou Warren Davis who is also buried in Buckhorn.
