                     C. E. Davis Of Dexter Died Last Night
 Funeral services for Curtis E. Davis, 71 of Dexter, who died unexpectedly last 
night at his residence, will be held Thursday at 4pm in the Assembly of God 
Church in Dexter.
 The Rev. Bradley Shaw will officiate assisted by Rev. C. S. Newton. Burial 
will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
 Active pallbearers are Bobby Lord, Bennie Davis, David Mullis, Jimmy Davis, 
Hufh Collins, and Deway Jones.
 Honorary escort: Daniel Pope, H. W. Daniel, W. G. Smith, J. O. English, Bennie 
Mullis, D. W. Knight Jr., J. E. Lord, C. E. Davidson, Joe Mullis, Jack Waldrop, 
Mark Wood, James Ward, Davis Colins, Prentice Barron, Millard Knight, J. W. 
Robertson, Parks Daniel, Charlie Powell, Carlus Gay, C. B. Darsey, Chandler 
Beasley, D. W. Knight Sr., and others.
 Adams Funeral Home is in charge.
 Mr. Davis, a retired carpenter, was born and reared in Laurens County, and was 
the son of the late Elbert L. Davis and Drucilla Darsey Davis. He was a member 
of the Assembly of God Church in Dexter.
 Survivors include his wife, the former Miss Mary Elizabeth Warren; three sons, 
Ellis and James Davis, Dexter and Laymon Davis of Dudley; three daughters, Mrs. 
Ruth Lord, Macon, Mrs. Dorothy Mullis, Dexter, and Mrs. Evelyn Brown, Dublin; 
19 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. J. J. 
NeSmith, Mrs. J. O. Phillips, and Mrs. D. L. Horne, all of Dexter.

Curtis was born 20 Feb 1889.
