                     Mrs. Ira Davis
 DUDLEY---Mrs. Ira Davis, 89, died late Wednesday afternoon in a Dublin 
nursing home after being in declining health for several years. Funeral 
services will be held at 2:00pm Friday at the Dudley Baptist Church with Rev. 
W. R. Weeks and Rev. Buford Raffield officiating. Burial will be in Dublin 
Memorial Gardens.
 Mrs. Davis was born in Twiggs County, but lived in Laurens County for most of 
her life. She was the daughter of the late James Chance and Mary Arnold 
Chance. She was the former Miss Avy Chance and was a member of the Dudley 
Baptist Church.
 Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Minnie Lou D. Bowles, Dudley and Mrs. 
Florence D. Brown, Dublin; two grandchildren, Mrs. Ann Dominy and Wendell 
Passmore, both of Dublin; 5 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, 
nephews, and other relatives.
 Pallbearers will be Roy Chappel, John Chappel, U. J. Hogan, Larry Shriver, 
Bailey Payne, David Putkowski, Delano Butler, and Doyle Brown.
 The family will be at the home of Mrs. Minnie Lou Bowles in Dudley.
 Adams Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.

Avey was born 14 Dec 1888. Her husband, Ira Davis is also buried at Dublin 
Memorial Gardens. Georgia death certificate #019529.
