(Jim) Carroll williamcarrollj@bellsouth.net April 23, 2009, 2:55 pm The Dublin Courier Herald 7-24-1973 Tommie Daniel Foskey Tommie Daniel Foskey, 72, died Wednesday in Talmadge Memorial Hospital in Augusta. He was a native of Johnson County but had made his home in Laurens County for the past 28 years. Mr. Foskey was a retired farmer and was a member of Smith Chapel Primitive Baptist Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Mamie Curl Foskey, Dublin; four sons, Elton C. Foskey, Savannah, Daniel Foskey, Jimmy Foskey, and Thomas Foskey, all of Lugoff, SC; five daughters, Mrs. Ruby Dickey and Mrs Mollie Yarborough, both of Lizella, Ga., Mrs. Latha Clemens and Mrs. Nancy Hudson, both of Lugoff, SC, and Mrs. Jeanette O'Quinn of Columbia, SC; three sisters, Mrs. Nettie Perry, Dublin, Mrs. Mary Lee Powell, and Mrs. Evelyn Gillis, both of Soperton; four brothers, Jack Foskey, St. Marys, Melvin Foskey, Macon, Sam Foskey, Dublin, and Burley Foskey, Soperton. Funeral services for Mr. Foskey will be at 4pm Wednesday from the Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home, Soperton, Ga. Interment will follow in the Blue Springs Cemetery in Laurens County. Sammons is in charge of all arrangements. Additional Comments: Tommy Daniel was born 8-1-1900 to Wesley Thomas Foskey Sr. and Nancy Ann "Nana" Spivey Foskey. His first wife, Ula Macafee Foskey, is buried in Bay Springs Cemetery in Johnson County.
