Garnto, 42 of Dublin Route 1, died at her residence suddenly today, Dec 19. Services will be held at Poplar Springs Baptist Church and interment will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. J. L. Manning will officiate with Adams Funeral Home directing. The time is undecided and will be announced at a later date. Mrs. Garnto was born and reared in Wilkinson County and had lived here since 1942. She was Miss Nellie Pearl Freeman before her marriage and was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband five sons, Oscar F., Horace E., Oliver H., Ira W., and Larry H. Garnto, all of Dublin Route 1; two daughters, Miss Mildred A. Garnto of Route 1 Dublin and Mrs. A. E. Payne of Route 1 Montrose; two grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ralph Garland of Milledgeville and Mrs. W. M. O'Neal of Route 1 Montrose. Additional Comments: Nellie was born 11 Dec 1907 to William Oscar Freeman and Letha Ella May Freeman. Georgia death certificate #27342. Her husband, Hoke Smith Garnto Sr. is buried in Macon Memorial Park in Bibb County.
