DC# 011109) and her husband, Grover Cleveland Hawkins Jr. was born 4-5-1918 and died 9-23-2004. Both are buried at Northview Cemetery in Dublin, Georgia. G.C. Hawkins 09/24/04 From the Dublin Courier Herald Services for Mr. G.C. Hawkins, 86, of Dublin, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Jefferson Street Baptist Church Chapel. Burial will follow at Northview Cemetery. Rev. Jay Moore and Rev. Jack Key will officiate. A lifelong resident of Laurens County, he was the son of the late Mr. Grover C. Hawkins Sr. and the late Mrs. Fannie Bell Keen Hawkins. Mr. Hawkins was the owner of Hawkins Cleaners and was a member of the Jefferson Street Baptist Church and the Men's Bible Class. Preceding him in death was his wife, Mrs. Alice G. (Peat) Hawkins and his son-in-law, Rodney Renfroe. He died Thursday. Survivors include his wife, Nell B. Hawkins of Dublin; his daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Edward Dominy of Dublin; his daughter, Joy Renfroe of Dublin; his step-son, Allen Dominy of Milledgeville; his stepdaughters, Gwen Harrell of Dublin and Kay D. Barner of Jonesboro; three grandchildren, Michael Renfroe of Dublin, Bruce Dominy of Dawsonville and Lori Bruton of Dublin; seven great-grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Mike Renfroe, Bruce Dominy, Jeff Bruton, Jimmy Lord, Bill Barner and Clint Dominy. Honorary escorts will be Dr. Alpha Watson, Bobby Barrentine, Mike McAfee, C.E. Arnold, Gilbert Turner, Sonny Hall, Rewell Wilkes, Douglas Bennett, Collins Cook, Frankie Bracewell, the Men's Bible Class and the Welcome Sunday School Class. The family will receive friends from 6 pm. until 8 p.m. Friday at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Townsend Brothers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
