                    Rufus Gilson Hester
 MACON--- Services for Rufus Gilson Hester, 70, of 4272 Capital Ave., were 
scheduled for 11am today in the chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home, with 
the Rev. Hugh Spivey officiating. Burial was to be in Blue Springs Church 
Cemetery.
 A native of Laurens County, Mr. Hester was the son of the late Jerry Hester 
and the late Gladys Stewart Hester and the widower of Faye Williams Hester. He 
was a resident of Laurens County for most of his life and had lived in Macon 
since 1989. He was a retired truck driver and was retired from Lovett and 
Tharpe Hardware Co. Mr. Lester died Saturday in a Macon hospital.
 He is survived by his children, Wyman Hester of Dublin, Patricia Ann Thigpen 
of Dublin, Timothy G. Hester of Dublin, and Gloria Kay Hoskins of Macon; nine 
grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
 Pallbearers are Curtis Foskey, Franklin Wilkes, Billy Spivey, Jerry Thigpen, 
Tyrone Hoskins, and Dennis Watson.
 The family will be at the home of Patricia Ann Thigpen, Route 1, Dudley.

Rufus Gilson was born 2 Feb 1928 to C. J. "Harris Stewart and Mary Jane Wood 
Stewart. Georgia death certificate #007251.
