(Jim) Carroll williamcarrollj@bellsouth.net April 1, 2012, 11:27 am The Dublin Courier Herald 9-21-1973 Mrs. Jewell Rogers Hester Funeral services for Mrs. Jewell Rogers Hester, 45, of Dublin Route 2, are to be held this afternoon in the Blue Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. William Garrett and the Rev. Larry Glover officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery and pallbearers will include James Woodard, Troy Smith, Marvin Lamb, Don Hester, Wayne Graham, and T, L. Mimbs. Townsend Funeral Home is in charge of the rites. A life long resident of Laurens County, Mrs. Hester was the daughter of the late J. F. Rogers. She was a member of the Central Drive Baptist Church and a retired employee of J. P. Stevens Co. Inc. Mrs. Hester died Thursday morning after a brief illness. She is survived by her husband, Cleveland Hester, Dublin; two sons, Mike and Trent Hester, Dublin; a daughter, Mrs. Brady Spires of Jacksonville, NC; her mother, Mrs. Clara Braddy Rogers, Dublin; a brother, J. F. Rogers Jr., Dublin; five sisters, Mrs. H. W. Wilder, Mrs. D. A. Stuckey Sr., and Mrs. J. Y. Lee, Dublin, Mrs. Chester Cosey, Atlanta, and Mrs. Wendell Zeigler, Hawaii; and one grandchild, Robbie Spires, Jacksonville, NC. Additional Comments: Jewell was born 23 Aug 1924.
