Jones Dodge County Newspaper Clippings April 5, 1961: Funeral services for Mrs. Carrie D. Jones, 83, of Chester were held Thursday at 3 P.M. in the Chester Methodist Church with Rev. John A.Godfrey officiating, assisted by Rev. Ben Cadwell, pastor of the ChesterBaptist Church. Burial was in Cadwell Cemetery. Mrs. Jones died Wednesday (3/29/1961) at her home. She was born in Laurens County, but had lived in Cadwell for the past 20 years. She was a member of the Cadwell Methodist Church. Serving as pallbearers were Massey Edge, Jack Jolly, Herman Floyd, Ben Burch, George Bowen , Math Parkerson. Survivors include four daughters: Mrs. W.C. Douglas, Alma; Mrs.Louise Mullis, Dublin; Mrs . Jack Burch, Chester; and Mrs. Dan Floyd, Gainesville, Fla; one son, Frank Jones, Alma; one brother, D.S. Dominy,Cadwell; eight grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. Horne Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
