(Jim) Carroll williamcarrollj@bellsouth.net May 19, 2011, 7:45 pm The Brunswick News 7-12-1957 Mrs. Keen Dies in City Early Today Mrs. Carrie May Minton Keen, 78, resident of Brunswick for 13 years, died at the Brunswick hospital this morning following an extended illness. She moved here from Toombs County. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at Bethlehem Church near Dublin. Interment will be in the churchyard under direction of the Edo Miller & Sons Funeral Home. The body will be taken to the residence, 3414 Reynolds Street at 10 o'clock Saturday morning and the funeral cortege will leave the home at 11am Sunday for Dublin. Mrs. Keen, a native of Hancock City, Ga., was a member of the Methodist Church in Laurens County. Survivors are: one sister, Mrs. Emma Wester, Macon, Ga.; one daughter, Mrs. G. C. Martin, Conway, SC; six sons, John, Ernest, and W. T. Keen, Brunswick, G. F., Danville, Sessom, Pooler, Estes, New Ellington, SC, and twelve grandchildren, and nine great- grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Additional Comments: Carrie was born 21 Jul 1878.
