Lord Thomaston --- George W. Lord, 82, of 400 B. S. Center St. died Wednesday in a Milledgeville hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. in Trail Branch Primitive Baptist Church near Cochran. Elders Ben Lord and Richard Halbegewachs will officiate. A native of Laurens County, Mr. Lord was the son of the late Robert M. Lord and Annie Elizabeth Floyd Lord. He was a member of Trail Branch Primitive Baptist Church. He was a retired employee of Robins Air Force Base, a retired farmer and an army veteran. Survivors include his wife, Lucile Bryant Lord of Thomaston; two sons Gary S. Lord and Douglas Lord, both of Thonaston; four brothers, Ben Lord and R. Minton Lord, both of Dudley, Samuel R. Lord of East Dublin and Iverson Lord of Whittier, Calif; eight sisters, Rose Williamson of Dexter, Susie Dorsey and Lucile Davis, both of Dudley, Ruth Wolcott of South Gate, Calif., Lorene Rowe, Annie Thompson and Jeanette Fulford, all of Dublin, Louise McCoy of Hampton, S.C.; a grandchild. The family will greet friends from 7:30 to 9 p.m. today in Townsend Brothers Funeral Home in Dublin.
