             Rites Sunday For Mr. McGowan At Marie Church
 Funeral services for Leonard McGowan, 73, of Dublin Rt. 1, will be held 
Sunday afternoon at four-thirty o'clock at the Marie Baptist Church with the 
pastor, the Rev. J. A. Patterson officiating. Burial will be in the church 
cemetery and Townsend Brothers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
 Members of the Men's Bible Class of the Marie Baptist Church will serve as 
pallbearers, including Chappell Garner, Lester Watson, Herschel Hobbs, Saxon 
Wells, Roy F. Elrod and Marvin Wyatt. The body will lie in state at Townsend 
Chapel until 3:30PM Sunday when it will be placed in the church.
 Mr. McGowan, a life-long resident of Laurens County, was a retired farmer. He 
was a member of the Marie Baptist Church and the Men's Bible Class of the 
church. He died unexpectedly at his home.
 He is survived by one son, Edgar McGowan, Dublin Rt, 1; one daughter, Mrs. 
Ralph Davis, Dublin Rt. 1; five grandchildren, Doyle McGowan, Rhonda McGowan, 
Terri McGowan, Howard Davis, and Mrs. Laverne Wright, all of Dublin; and a 
great-grandchild, Cynthia Anne Wright, of Dublin.

Additional Comments:
Leonard was born 3-3-1884 to Noah McGowan and Malissie Unknown McGowan.
