(Jim) Carroll williamcarrollj@bellsouth.net November 22, 2009, 6:16 am The Dublin Courier Herald 11-20-1990 Page 2A Edgar McGowan Services for Edgar McGowan, 74, of Route 7 Dublin, will be held at 2pm Wednesday in the chapel of Townsend Funeral Home. Dr. James Sampley and the Rev. John Mallard will officiate and burial will be in Dublin Memorial Gardens. A lifelong resident of Laurens County, Mr. McGowan was the son of the late Leonard and Susan Foskey McGowan. He was a veteran of World War II, a retired farmer of the Marie Baptist Church community in Laurens County, and a member of Jefferson Street Baptist Church and the Men's Bible Class. Mr. McGowan died this morning at a Dublin hospital. Survivors include his wife, Rosalynd Graham McGowan of Dublin; a son, Doyle McGowan of Dublin; two daughters, Rhonda McGowan Meadows of Macon and Teri McGowan Smith of Baxley; five grandchildren, Kevin and Karen McGowan of Dublin, Jason and Sandi Smith of Baxley, and Sam Meadows of Macon; and a sister, Lucille Davis of Dublin. Pallbearers are ___ ____, J. C. Pitts Sr., Earl Hodges, W. Frost, Oscar Wolfe, and ___ Beacham. Members of the Men's Bible Class at Jefferson Street Baptist Church will serve as honorary escort.
