Mimbs Funeral Rites To Be Sunday Funeral services for Morris Lee Mimbs, 76, of 228 Mincey St., will be held Sunday afternoon at 2pm, at the Bethlehem Baptist Church. The Rev. Joel Roberson, pastor, the Rev. C. E. Vines, and the Rev. H. F. Bryant will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery and pallbearers will include nephews Earl Mimbs, Benion Mimbs, Eugene Mimbs, Hulon Mimbs, Bobby McGuiar, and Rutrull McGuiar. Townsend Brothers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The body will be placed in state at the church at 1pm. Mr. Mimbs died Friday at his home after a long illness. He was a native of Johnson County but had lived in Dublin and Laurens County all of his life. He was retired, and a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church at Condor. He was the son of the late Nathan Mimbs and Mary Webb Mimbs. He is survived by his wife, the former Miss Okella Foskey; three sons, Elbert Mimbs of Alamo and Wilburn Mimbs and Lonzie Mimbs, both of Dublin; three daughters, Mrs. Cleo Jones of Jacksonville, Fla., Mrs. Mazie Blue of Cameron, NC; and Mrs. Rosa McGuiar of Savannah; four sisters, Mrs. Lonnie Oliver, Mrs. Minnie Driver, Mrs. Laura Spear, and Mrs. Lucille Smith; four brothers, John Mimbs, George Mimbs, Harvey Mimbs, and Dessie Mimbs; 13 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
