(Jim) Carroll williamcarrollj@bellsouth.net October 20, 2009, 6:55 am The Dublin Courier Herald 2-13-1966 Front Page Funeral Rites For Mrs. Mimbs Of Alamo Funeral services for Mrs. Annie Mimbs of Route 1 Alamo, who died at her home on Saturday after an extended illness, will be held at Union Springs Baptist Church on Monday at 2pm. The body will be placed in the church at 12:30pm. The Rev. Allen R. Carter and the Rev. C. E. Vines will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Mrs. Mimbs was born and reared in Laurens County. She was a member of the Union Springs Baptist Church and was very active in church activities. Survivors include her husband, George E. Mimbs of Route 1 Alamo; two sons, Melvin E. Mimbs, Alamo and M. Hulon Mimbs, Macon; two daughters, Mrs. Sarah Nell Harvill, Dublin and Mrs. Evie Jean Crooms, Florence, SC; three brothers, William H. Mimbs, Washington DC, T. L. Mimbs, and Eustus Mimbs, both of Dublin; two sisters, Mrs. Orene Martin, Dublin and Mrs. Agnes Garnto, Brunswick; thirteen grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Townsend Brothers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Additional Comments: Annie Nell was born 9-26-1907 to Alford L. Mimbs and Mary Cornelia Wood Mimbs. Georgia death certificate #003184.
