(Jim) Carroll williamcarrollj@bellsouth.net March 22, 2013, 10:48 am The Dublin Courier Herald 8-27-1984 Mr. Mullis Services for Blanton James Mullis, 70, of Route 1 Cadwell, will be held at 3pm today at Reedy Springs Baptist Church. Elder Franklin Bryant will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. A lifelong resident of Laurens County, Mr. Mullis was the son of the late Ellis C. and Lucille Murkerson Mullis. he was a veteran of World War II, a retired heavy equipment operator, and a Primitive Baptist. Mr. Mullis died Sunday morning in a local hospital after a brief illness. Survivors include his wife, Laura B. Mullis of Cadwell; a daughter, Zell M. Skipper of Cadwell; two stepsons, John E. Stevens of Youngstown, Ohio and James H. Stevens of Brighton, Mich.; two brothers, Woodrow Mullis of Cadwell and Doyle Mullis of Rentz; and six grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Frank Page, Elton Graham, Randall Brown, Raymond Mulis, Dennard Alligood, and Dale Beck. The body will be placed in the church at 2pm today. Townsend Funeral Home has charge of arrangements. Additional Comments: Blanton was born 23 Sep 1913. His first wife was Mary Black Mullis and his second wife was Laura Bell Mullis Stevens Mullis.
