"Soon" Norris, 72, died Saturday in a local hospital after a lengthy illness. Services will be held at 4PM today in the Blue Springs Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Elder T. J. McMurrian, Elder Paul Thomas, and Rev. Hershel Clements will officiate. Mr. Norris, a lifelong resident of Laurens County, was a member of Silver Leaf Primitive Baptist Church. He was retired from the state highway department. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Georgia Lee Sterling Norris of Lollie; three sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Mae Smith of Soperton, Mrs. Dallie McDaniel of Vero Beach, Fla., and Mrs. Leitha Black of Dublin; a brother, Julius Norris of Dublin. The body will be placed in the church at 3PM. Pallbearers will be: Alfred Locke, Gene Spivey, David Graham, Larry Wood, Cecil Simons, and Leland Donaldson.
